He’s led laps in eight races this season, but his best finish is a trio of fifths. “I was just talking to Robin Pemberton [NASCAR’s vice president of competition] and we were just talking about the poles this season and I told him, ‘You know, you never wish a good thing away, but I would probably give up every one of them for a win,’ ” Vickers said.
