Is brewers yeast same as active dried yeast?

0

No. Active dried yeast is a live yeast used for baking or sometimes used by home wine makers. Baker’s yeast actually depletes the body of B vitamins. Brewer’s yeast, aka nutritional yeast, is grown from Hops flowers (used to brew beer, thence the name). It has lived it’s life out and is no longer active or capable of causing bubbles. It is rich in many nutrients but is especially known as a B-vitamin source, although it has no B-12. It contains fourteen minerals, seventeen vitamins and is high in protein. Some nutritionists suggest avoiding all yeast when fighting a Candida overgrowth. Others just say to avoid live yeast.
