They are related but no. Breathing is just taking breaths in and out, ventilating your lungs to take in oxygen. Respiration is the reactions that take place within cells of living organisms to create a product called ATP (Adeno-triphosphate) which is used as a source of energy. So in short, a process that creates energy. This can be produced either by Aerobic respiration or Anaerobic respiration. Aerobic respiration is producing this energy source with oxygen. Anaerobic respiration is producing this energy source without oxygen.
