Is Borland Delphi 4 a worth while programming language to learn?
Nah, most applications people end up developing in Delphi are boring. C++ is where it’s at. Not sure what you mean by Microsoft being too advanced, they’ve held back mass computing by about ten years (and with Office 2007 they even appear to be going backwards). Get gcc and forget Microsoft. In response to what the other guy said – I remember Delphi when it was The Next Big Thing, and I thought it rubbish then. It seemed little more than Pascal with bells and whistles.. has anything changed since then? I think the limitations of a teaching language such as Pascal must have been it’s ultimate downfall. C++ has been around for ages, decades, and is still the daddy. Other languages such as Python are loosely based around C and C++ so if you know C++ you should be fairly comfortable with the likes of Python, Perl, etc. and could pick them up with only a little learning curve. PHP is a very widely used language for web design and is one such language that’s quite easy to get into once you k
