No! It is frowned upon by the casinos and they have made many rule changes to thwart card counters at the blackjack tables. If the casino suspects you are counting, they will take counter measures, from simply cutting deeper into the shoe, reshuffling when you raise your bet, or even asking you to leave. You must avoid detection if you are going to count cards. How do I avoid detection when counting cards? Firstly, do not make sudden large raises! The dealer most likely knows the count too, and a large raise when the count is high is a dead giveaway that you are counting! Use a parlay system, doubling your bet into a good deck, maybe even adding a chip or two to the double. Never mention the count or counting terms. Tip the dealer as appropriate.
