According to a study published in Cancer Research, bitter melon stops the growth of breast cancer cells by altering certain signaling pathways that the cells need to survive. When these pathways are interrupted, breast cancer cells stop dividing and eventually die. Researchers made this discovery after treating human breast cancer cells with bitter melon extract in the laboratory.
