Is Biotane safe?
Absolutely!! BIOTANE is made from biodegradable feedstocks and alcohol, if it is accidentally spilled on the ground, it will quickly degrade into natural organic residues. Based on industry standards Biotane is no more toxic than table salt and is just as safe to handle. Like petroleum diesel biodiesel can stain some types of painted surfaces and bear metal therefore, it is recommended to wipe off any spills quickly. Mechanics that are familiar with Biotane and its use notice that their hands do not crack and dry out the way they do with petroleum diesel. Biodiesel (Biotane) is the only alternative fuel that has successfully completed and passed the EPA tier one and tier two health affects test. Some of the other commonly used alternative fuels such as CNG were grandfathered into use without being subjected to these EPA tests and they are not renewable either.
