Is Billy Bowden, the Dancing Umpire, is better than any Cheer Leader?
Well!!!!! Billy Bowden shows his signals like a dance. But, there is a sad story behind the dancing umpire… He suffers from arthritis. Arthritis is a group of conditions involving damage to the joints of the body. It was too painful for Bowden to signal a batsman out in the conventional fashion with a straight index finger raised above the head, and this led to the “crooked finger of doom”. He has also put his own slant on several other signals, including a “crumb-sweeping” wave of the arm to signal four, and the “double crooked finger six-phase hop” to signal a six. His signals are sedate in Tests, more flashy in ODIs and decidedly flamboyant in Twenty20. Thus, he is the one who converted his pain into fashion…
Billy bowden on any given day is far better than the cheer girls as the magnitude of fun that he gets into the field is of great proportions and not at all like girls that dance for jus creating a visual pleasure … instead he does it out of heart and that matters a lot There is real fun in watchin him except for when ,india is in a loosing position and when he gives a wrong decision against indians …………
