Bush.” • All Gates wanted to do was operate in a free-enterprise system, and “there’s no party that supports the free-enterprise system like the Republican Party.” • Gates has donated to Bush’s re-election.
Bill Gates considered himself a democrat though he was not very politically involved, at least until the Clinton administration went after Microsoft, then his way of thinking shifted and he considered it to back more free enterprise friendly republicans. Bill Gates has always been socially liberal, but since the attack on Microsoft by the Clinton Administration he seems to be leaning fiscally conservative. Bill has always supported varied candidates, though in the past has supported mostly democrats, until recently he started supporting more republicans and fiscally conservative causes. Bill’s parents were republicans who were on the liberal side and supported many liberal causes and were pro choice.
