Is belgium for or against genetically modified crops?
There is no ‘Belgian’ answer. The Flemish state wants to start a test project with modified trees that would produce more bio-fuel. But the other state, Walloonia, opposed and tried to prevent the outdoors test of these trees by using all judicial/obstruction means they had at their disposal. So, in short: the majority of the Belgians support at least some tests with modified crops, but the other state is against. The test will start anyway: if Walloonia keeps on obstructing and would succeed in preventing the test in Belgium, then the test will be done in the Netherlands.
