Is being psychologically complex a turn-off to men?
yes, because if you think about it,
men want women for the purpose of sex, and anything that makes that conquest more complicted is in fact a turn-off. Point blank, sad to say and the truth as I know it.
Guys only put up with women’s complexities because they have no choice but to try and seem helpful, sympathetic or intriqued becuause they are once again, hoping to get laid.
This will make them endure many many unwanted tasks, conversations and activities because they know that they can’t just hop into the sack until the girl feels like she is really "connecting" or some thing of that nature, so her complexity is a "harder to get" kind of sex, but maybe she is worth it to him because she is really "hot".
Still, if she isn’t that "hot" her psychological complexity will be a major turn off and will ultimately be too much effort for not that much pay off, unless of course, the guy is also a total failure, and can not get any sex at all from anybody, in which case, he is hoping that he will score with the "complex thinking dorky girl" just for a hope and prayer, and he knows no other type of girl will even give him the time of day.
Well, as you said, this involves a lot of generalization, so please keep that in mind as I continue, but: Usually, men like being able to feel dominant or superior, not for their own ego, usually, but they like to think they’re useful to the woman they’re dating. So in that sense, simpler women would rely on a man for his knowledge. I would dare to say, at least half of the time it pans out this way. There’s still a decent percentage of guys who like the more complex or involved women, however it still pans out to the original ideal that the man wants to seem useful and deserving of the woman’s affection and respect. So as long as the guy is capable of making up the inability to easily read and possibly assist the woman in intellectual matters by helping her in other areas, it should work out.
