Is being a woman professor/poet/writer hard?
I dont think so. I think being a writer and surviving financially is hard for anyone because its not a money making art form like filmmaking or music etc. I also think that increasingly, with audiences (student, reading etc) wanting more diversity and authenticity of voice, that they want to hear about womens issues and womens stories from women, not necessarily by men, who traditionally may have made up the greater proportion of the academic world.
