It has been a favorite pastime to many Californians since its invention and has spread worldwide. It is truly an addictive sport in a good way. Fun in the sun, keeping fit, and competitions that fuel the interest are reasons why beach volleyball is so appealing. Many people play for the connections and the great personalities developed by the people that participate in the sport. Many kids from Orange County have received scholarships to colleges and universities for volleyball. Beach volleyball is now an Olympic sport that used to be dominated by the Americans, but now is any countries gold for the taking.
