Is baton an expensive sport to get involved in?
Not at all! All of the needed practice clothing and equipment items are included in your registration. Performance costumes, as described above, are the most costly aspect of twirling. Additionally, if you choose to compete individually, you would need to purchase costumes for these competitive events. Your team costume should not be worn for individual competitions because one thing your judges will consider is whether your music, costume, and routine are cohesive and interpretive. The starlets’ team costumes are not intended for this purpose. They have been designed for uniformity, standing out in a crowd (like at a parade), and mimicking the costumes of other team sports like cheerleading. Travel to and from competitions can add up as well. However these events are only mandatory for the members of the Super Starlets team.
