Is Baseball Headed for Lopsided Playoffs, World Series?
Baseball heads for another October month in which new playoff and World Series heroes will be born. But the quality of the playoff heroes and playoffs in general have been diminished for a while. Nearly every year baseball captivates fans into watching the playoffs and World Series, and for the last several years, they haven’t gotten many rewards for it. With only a famous few exceptions, the baseball playoffs and World Series have been more likely to bore fans and make them shake their heads at the ugly play on hand. And with so many teams bunched together this year with no dominant favorite, baseball could have another boring playoff season this year too. Last year, baseball had a thrilling, topsy-turvy regular season with historic comebacks and a controversial one-game playoff for the NL Wild Card.
