Is BAS 2 used with CAT3, or as an alternative to CAT3?
BAS 2 is used by Educational and Clinical Psychologists to assess individual children and teenagers who have been referred to them. BAS 2 is not available for use by teachers. CAT3 is a test used by teachers in schools to assess classes of pupils at a time. BAS 2 and CAT3 are unlikely to be used together as part of an assessment exercise. They can be viewed as providing alternative ways of assessing reasoning abilities, though BAS 2 also assesses educational achievement and specific cognitive abilities like short-term memory.
