Is Autism a disability/disease of the Nervous System?

0

Autism falls into Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), a category of neurological disorders characterized by “severe and pervasive impairment in several areas of development.” So technically it is a brain disorder, but when you look into the characteristics of autism you’ll notice that one of them is “apparent over-sensitivity or under-sensitivity to pain”, but they can also have over-sensitivity or under-sensitivity to lights, sounds, tastes and odors besides the “feel/touch” sense, which would be part of the nervous system, and the brain is part of the nervous system so I would say yes it is not only a disorder of the brain but the nervous system as well.
