Is Attendance Required For Online Courses?
Online courses are designed to offer an education to students from their own home, therefore, on the whole, students are not required to attend the classroom for any reason. However, on certain occasions students may be required to attend an introduction session, or to sit certain exams. Many students decide that they would prefer to attend a more traditional classroom environment for particularly difficult subjects, but remain in online education for the rest of the course. A lot of the online institutions will not have a physical campus, so do not have the means for students to turn up in person, but measures are then put in place for exams to be taken under the supervision of a pre-approved proctor. Certain online courses will require students attend a brick and mortar campus, maybe for just a few hours per week, to discuss any problems and go over the course structure.
