Is attendance at a military service academy considered active duty after 20 years of regular service?
The four years at the academy are not used in calculating your retirement pay from the military. However, if you were to enter civil service and were to retire from that career, then your civil service pension would count your four years at the academy, plus your active duty military time, plus your time as a civil servant.
