Is ASL English just spoken through the hands?
No. There are many different types of Sign Language used in the United States today. While most of the handshapes and signs themselves are the same or similar, what makes ASL unique is the way it has no connection to the English grammatical structure. While the type of Sing Language will vary from person to person, ASL is the predominant language of choice for the Deaf community.
