Is Ascent Capture compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista?
In anticipation of Microsoft’s impending full release of the Windows Vista product next year, Kofax Ascent version 8.0 (scheduled for release in 2007) will be certified in a Windows Vista operating system environment. With Ascent 8.0, all Windows Vista features will be supported to ensure maximum synergy between the OS and the industry leading Ascent product. Earlier versions of Ascent — Ascent version 7.x and earlier — will not support Windows Vista. These systems will first need to be upgraded to Ascent 8.0 in order to support MS Vista. Kofax’s software assurance program virtually eliminates software costs associated with this upgrade. Until Ascent 8.0 is released and Windows Vista certification is announced, Ascent products are officially not supported in a Windows Vista environment.
