Is arnica montana toxic to take internally?
I think your reaction to it says it all. This medication in the form you took it can be safe for most but for you it is toxic. I would not try it again, especially as you are recovering right now from surgery and are therefore more vulnerable to the stress of a reaction. I would take vitamin E internally and externally for scaring, the topical (use only externally for you!) solution cream or gel of Anica Montana for bruising (some people also use Vanilla extract topically on bruises to reduce swelling and discoloration with good results) and Lavender essential oil rubbed on scars has also been helpful to fade scars quickly. You might want to also look into Flax Seed Oil for scarring. You might also check out Strivectin. Though not a home or herbal remedy, the commercial product Strivectin is one of the best scar relievers found anywhere. Awesome results in 8-10 weeks. Arnica Montana in Homoeopathic potency is NEVER toxic internally or externally, only CURATIVE. The one you have is perfect in all respects and is the real remedy. You may take just one drop a dose at 8 hrs. interval for about 3 days. It is not going to harm you at all. It will rather CURE you. Take one drop either directly on the tongue or in a teaspoon of water. The remedy works through the tongue cells and not through stomach. So it should be spread over the tongue than be swallowed direct into the stomach. This is a very important information on taking the Homoeopathic remedies. You should not have eaten or drunk any liquid except plain water at least an hour before taking the dose and also should not take any food or drink except plain water at least one hour after taking the dose. This information is also very important. Best of luck and rapid curing.
Homeopathic remedies are designed to help your body heal itself. But you have to have experienced some kind of trauma in order for the remedies to work — your body does not have a crystal ball to predict the future, so taking a remedy before something has happened is totally ridiculous. Someone tried to do a random controlled trial involving marathon runners a few years back with negative results — they gave them the Arnica before the race, not after. Kinda stupid. If you took Arnica 200C before your surgery you had what’s called an aggravation, and you had “symptoms” that can be produced by the remedy. If your surgeon wants to practise homeopathy he had better sign up for a recognized certification course that teaches how to prescribe properly according to the rules of Homeopathy. Arnica montana is not toxic in homeopathic doses. Arnica when taken AFTER a trauma reduces bruising, swelling and pain by at least 50%. The only time homeopathic remedies can be used BEFORE an event is whe
