Is AquaSquirts a synchronized swimming program?
AquaSquirts is an aquatic program that incorporates elements from a variety of aquatic sports including diving, water polo, swimming and synchro. Because the program was developed by the Canadian Amateur Synchronized Swimming Association (Synchro Canada), the course content includes patterns and floats and how to create sequences (the use of music is suggested, but not mandatory). AquaSquirts is not a learn to “synchro” program. (Note: Synchro Canada’s Star Program teaches synchro skills – visit www.synchro.ca for more information). Synchronized swimming clubs that offer AquaSquirts may tailor it to be used as a pre-synchro program or introduction to synchro class with the hope of recruiting new athletes to their club.
