Is AP Human Geography intended to be taught as a year-long or semester-long course?
AP Human Geography is taught in both year-long and semester-long formats. The year-long course is currently the far more common approach. The course is typically taught as a semester only at the university level and the credit awarded for passage of the AP exam is commensurate. If a teacher intends to teach the course in a half-year they will need to be sure to carefully assign readings and case studies that will extend students learning beyond the classroom experience.
