Is anyone else unable to turn on Media Sharing in Windows Media Player 11?

Yes! I’m having this exact same issue! I’m running WMP 11 beta 2 on my MCE 2005 desktop and WMP 11 final on my XP Pro laptop. I had media sharing enabled on the desktop in the past but just noticed in recent days that my 360 is no longer able to stream media from it. I had the 360 and my Linksys Wireless Music System showing up as available devices but still neither could get media. So I figured it had to be my ports. I turned off Windows Firewall altogether and it didn’t help. Then I reset it to defaults and rebooted, WMP told me my firewall setting had changed and my media would be unshared. I would have to confirm I wanted to share the media again, which brought me right to the Share my media box. Like you, I’m checking the option, clicking OK and WMP hangs for about 15 seconds, then comes back to the same window. While troubleshooting, I got out my laptop, which I just upgraded to WMP 11 about a week ago and had never enabled media sharing on, and noticed it’s doing the same thing.

What is your question?

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
