Is anyone else patiently waiting for Dean Koontz final book on the Frankenstein series?

I actually have the first 2 books, but I haven’t read them yet because I was waiting to read all 3 back to back because they were originally supposed to be published close together. I’m glad I haven’t read them because I would probably re-read them at this point anyway. I read an article about his a while back, but I can’t find it again now that said the final book had a huge catastrophe hitting New Orleans, and he felt that after Hurricane Katrina that he couldn’t publish it as it was and needed to do a major rewrite. I understand his concerns, but the book was originally supposed to be out in the summer of 2006, so I don’t know why it hasn’t been published by now. The most recent update said May of 2008, but that’s obviously not happening. The situation reminds me of the huge lag between the first Stephen King Dark Tower books and the final two.
