Is anybody else bothered by the fact that obama acts more like a celebrity than the president?
I don’t think Obama acts as much like a celebrity as the media seems determined to portray him as a celebrity. I think it’s a symptom of our time, where people prefer “reality” television and seem unable to accept the fact that most important things wind up being humdrum and boring. Tech stocks, green energy, housing boom = exciting. Paying off your credit cards, savings accounts, waiting until you can afford something before buying it = boring. We are paying the price for our “entertaining” choices. I hope Obama doesn’t wind up being a bad choice. But charisma and buzzwords (Hope, Change) won’t get much done in the real world.
