The foundations of the twin arch bridge over the Old River Soar are to be used fo the construction of the new bridge. None of the actual viaduct will be left standing on completion of the project. All usable materials from the demolition will be recycled into the fabric of the new road. It is anticipated over 60% of the materials will be recycled.
