Is any large b2c websites developed by wordpress?
It depends on the size and the scope. There are some enormous commercial, high-volume blogs that are on WordPress (including the NYT); and then I know of a lot of smaller businesses who do a lot more with WordPress as a complete site solution (including ecommerce). But for most large businesses, the taxonomy limitations inherent in WP can often be hard to manage your way around. (Because WP only has two native content types, complex sites can get hard to manage very quickly.) We do WordPress installs for small businesses, but if a client is past a certain size or type of functionality, I often recommend that they use Drupal instead, because it has more scalability and flexibility in some of the technically complex ways that larger sites often need.
