Is Anthony Horowitz or J K Rowling a better writer?
It’s not comparable because they write in two completely different styles. Horowitz writes in a fashion that encompasses several genres, where Rowling is a master of the magical fantasy style. And contrary to the ignorant belief of the person above me, sales do not equal quality. Stephenie Meyer has sold millions of her pieces of tripe, whereas Toni Morrison’s most powerful novel, Beloved, hasn’t sold near as many. It’s quite the opposite actually; the more a book sells, the more you usually can presume it’s written to the less-discriminating reader, whose knowledge of quality writing is often based off the NYTimes Bestseller list.. Harry Potter was a rare exception to this.
