Is Anne of the green gables series romance or is it for kids?

The series starts when Anne is twelve and the other books take her all the way to adulthood, with a family and everything. The books are quite suitable for young readers, but a lot of older people like them too. They aren’t exactly romance, I wouldn’t say, but they do have romance in them. They are fine for kids and enjoyable for adults as well.
