However, I prefer more of a management degree where you would not be so specific to a field of study, that it corners you should you decide to move into management positions in other fields. When your masters is in something very specific, it’s like painting yourself into a corner. A management degree opens up many more doors of opportunity not only within your present field, but in many others as well. This is why so many individuals from all types of fields take an masters in business administration (MBA), or general management degrees (for example, organizational management) at the masters level.
