Is an Honorable Discharge from the military as valuable as my recruiter said it was?
Erudite is an idiot and slams the military as well as gets reported every time he posts a question. The truth of the matter is this: An honorable discharge is the best way possible to end your time in the military. I have gotten one every time I reenlisted. The DD-214 is the most important thing you will receive at the end of your enlistment. It shows not only what type of discharge you received, but awards you earned, and job you had in the military as well as all your schools you went through, i.e. Armorers Course, Effective Writing, Medical courses, etc. Obviously an Honorable Discharge is the best type of discharge you can get, but if you get out on a General Discharge, there is always the possibility of having it upgraded.
