Is an excavator required to make a second call to contact the water or wastewater operator?
• The law does not require the excavator to make the second call. However, Staff strongly recommends this practice to avoid damage and any potential liability. If the excavator makes the second call, the excavator will be required to allow two working days for the Tier 2 facility operator to perform locates.
