Is an associates degree better than a certificate of achievement when majoring in surgical technology?
I would agree with the other postees that it can help the applicant to look more well-rounded if having an associate’s degree as opposed to ‘just’ a certificate. For general career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and search ‘surgical technologists’ or such. Please forgo those private $$ career schools and instead opt for the county vo-tech school or community college as long as it’s accredited within the industry. Please also steer clear of those online, for-profit schools such as penn foster, stratford career, university of phoenix, capella and others that are merely out to ‘make a profit’: http://www.capellauniversitysucks.us http://www.ripoffreport.com and type into search.
