Is an ASP better than a traditional application like Clients & Profits?

That’s a real advantage if you don’t have the people, experience, or desire to maintain your own in-house server. The drawback is functionality: Almost every ASP-based system offers only the basic features you need to run a small design studio. Because ASP-based systems are relatively new, they haven’t matured to the point that they’ll work for a growing creative business that has dozens of employees, hundreds of open jobs, and sophisticated job costing, billing, media, and financial accounting needs. In these case, mature traditional applications like Clients & Profits are the only practical choice.
