Is an AMD Turion 64 processor better than an Intel Celeron processor?
The Turion 64 is a work-horse processor, while the Celeron is a budget processor. Celerons are okay if all you’re going to be doing are things like writing documents, looking at pictures, surfing the web, and listening to music. However, if you’re going to be doing photo, music, or movie editing, 3D rendering (like CADD and 90% of PC games), programming, managing a database, or anything heavy like that, you’ll want the Turion. Even if both are the same speed (e.g. 2GHz), if you’re doing anything complex like gaming or video editing, the Celeron will choke.
