Is America really built upon Christian values?

0

The founding principles of the US are informed by Christian principles. There is little question that these principles have not always been followed, either by the government or individual citizens. I guess this would be the risk of granting personal liberties. But then, representative democracy is still a ‘noble experiement’, it’s still in progress. The label ‘Christian’ is extremely broad and not very informative. Many people call themselves Christians only because they had some association with one church or another in their youth. Some take extreme views, left or right. Some place different emphasises on different aspects of the faith. There is no single standard of orthodoxy relative to the entire country, and the Constitution ensures that there never will be.

It was built on Christian values but is straying further everyday from them.
