Is Amazon Royal Mail expedient shipping rate first class?

As far as I know, Express delivery does not use Royal Mail first class. I believe that it sometimes uses Royal Mail Special Delivery, but sometimes it uses another private courier (such as CityLink or DHL). In both cases, you will need to have somebody in to sign for the item, or it will be taken back to the depot. It will arrive before 1pm on the date they tell you when you order (both Royal Mail Special Delivery and the couriers are a next-day service, but you have to allow Amazon time to package the item and dispatch it to you).
