Is all digital TV High Definition or HD?
The terms digital television (DTV) and high definition television (HDTV) are often used in the same sentence, but they are NOT the same thing. HDTV is the highest quality form of DTV. Not all DTV is high definition. Here is how it looks by the numbers: traditional television signals might be rated at a resolution of 480. This sometimes called Standard Definition or SD. High Definition television, or HD, may have a resolution as high as 720 or 1080. What this means is a clearer and sharper picture. The higher the number, the greater the resolution, and the sharper the picture.
