No, although the thickness is the same, the strength of the steel can be quite different. There are different grades of steel; Wick uses a grade “E” which means that it has a tensile strength of 82,000 PSI. compare this to a grade “D’ (65,000 PSI). Some builders will use either a “D” grade or a non-structural commercial quality steel (32,000 PSI) This means WICK has greater load capacity and greater sheer strength.
