Is Airtran a decent airline?
I haven’t flown with Airtran, but the reviews I found on the web were all bad! Approximately 1/2 hour before boarding, an announcement was made asking for volunteers to give up their seats in return for free round trip tickets anywhere in the US and a meal voucher. We were first in line, after 20-30 minutes of the agent trying to change our flight she called a supervisor and was told we did not qualify since our final destination was Philadelphia. The people behind us in line were given the free tickets, their final destination was Atlanta. When we landed in Atlanta 1 hour and 10 minutes later we were greeted by a gate agent saying our flight was delayed, several hours later our flight was cancelled all together. They blamed it on “weather”. There was light rain in Phila according to CNN. All agents were extremely rude, shoving vouchers at us and telling us to return by 5am the next morning.
