Is AIDS Gods judgment on homosexuals?
Some professing Christians have publicly expressed their opinion that the scourge of AIDS is Gods judgment on homosexuals in particular and America in general. Primarily because of increasing social and legal support in the United States, but nearly all other countries have similar epidemics raging among their populace. AIDS does not affect the homosexual and lesbian community only. AIDS is contracted in several other ways including contaminated blood products and infected mothers giving birth to infected babies. We must remember that we are ALL sinners in Gods eyes, (Romans 3:23). Salvation is based on Gods grace, not on ones moral goodness! However, Gods grace extends to the sinner, not the sin! Gods Word clearly condemns homosexuality as sin and plainly declares that it and other deviant behavior is abhorrent in His eyes. (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:23-32; I Corinthians 6:9, 10).
