Is AICTE recognition important for private universities?

No its not necessary but important. There is so much discrepancies in our govt. Education Policy that even the concerned department also do not reply to such queries. In India there is a concept of Deemed Universities. A few are UGC recognised whose degrees are also genuine. I shall like to suggest you before getting in any particular private university ask clear answer from the authorities whether their degree eligible one to get admission in any govt. colleges like IIM/IIT for PG courses or for govt. jobs? You can also ask the information for any particular college/university from UGC or AICTE or DTE under RTI Act 2005 for which charges are just Rs. 10/-.
