Is adhd anger problems?
The disease pattern of ADHD doesn´t show any anger problems. But it is not rare, that ADHD comes along with other behavior disorders, such as ODD (oppositional defiance disorder). ODD does show anger problems. Therefore, it is often thought, that ADHD makes you often aggressive, which isn´t the case.
Depending on the severity of the problem and if a person has ADHD or ADD (it is all called ADHD now but there are two sub groups). With ADHD some kids/teens can get very angry and throw fits. Some doctors are medicating with atypical antipsychotics like Risperdal to control any out bursts. That type of prescribing is far more controversial that using stimulants. There is also a massive increase in the amount of Bipolar diagnosis for kids/teens. And often Bipolar and ADHD overlap. But diagnosing bipolar in kids is very controversial. So ADHD is not typically an anger problem but some people can become angry or agitated. I think ADHD is very real (and all the science says it is) but now it is increasingly common for people to have ADHD/Bipolar and take Ritalin, Adderall, Lamictal, Clonazepam, Ambien, Clonidine- possibly ALL together.
