Is Acuna safe?
Acuna is often refered to as a safe border city. Although no one in any country can guarantee a visitor’s safety it must be mentioned that Acuna has not experienced problems like those in the news in other far away bordertowns (Juarez, Tijuana). Acuna’s tranquil nature is evident in the fact that the city co-hosted the Lubbock, Texas based Port-to-Plains Summit in October, 2008 (click here for info). The city also welcomes visitors regularly to such events as the George Paul Memorial Bullriding party, Running of Las Vacas, and Amistad Lake related tournamants.
