If you looking for cheap then Acer is your brand. That’s what you’ll get, a cheap bottom of the line laptop, entirely constructed of cheap parts. It won’t have the nice bells and whistles and it won’t have a great life expectancy but it will be cheap.

The brand doesn’t matter at the low-end. If possible, get any brand or model of laptop that gives you the following: 1. any dual core CPU 2. a dedicated graphics chip such as ATI 3650 or greater or NVidia 8600 or greater 3. any 7200 rpm hard drive 4. 4 gig RAM 5.
