Is Accreditation mandatory?
Accreditation under the international standard is completely voluntary; certification bodies are not required to participate. Yet many certifying organizations already operating at the regional and international level will discover an increase the potential for national and international reciprocity of certified individuals and personnel certification bodies, thereby allowing services to become much more mobile. Accreditation by a fair, impartial and globally recognized third party will drive continual improvement and will confer additional credibility to certifying organizations, promoting their recognition in national and international arenas.
