Is accessibility of software and online services for disabled users known or important?

I would like to ask You fellow LinkedIners if You think that accessibility of softwrae and online services important to Your company or clients. I work in a slightly different field, more connected to business process management and performance management or knowledge and ontology engineering, but I am myself blind and very often find applications not accessible. Although the technology has progressed enormously there is still not enough of interest/knowledge in design and implementation. I would like to know if You would be willing to use more “pragmatic and handbook/recepy oriented” accessibility best practices or would You be willing to even pay moderest fee for such services. I know from experience that accessible information systems truely benefit all users regardless of abilities. Please share Your thoughts and ideas online or write me at pawel@e-urbanski.
