According to Acts 17:25, it is God who “giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.” Luke 1:36-44 speaks of Elizabeth’s pregnancy. Notice a few facts about this: (1) It was the sixth month of her pregnancy (v. 36). (2) According to v. 41 & 44, the bade “leaped in her womb.” This obviously indicates life. (3) The word “bade” is from the Greek word brephos. This Greek word is used throughout the New Testament to identify a human infant either born or unborn. For example, in Luke 2:12, 16, the word is used to refer to Jesus when he was a “bade.” However, in this instance, it refers to a human infant that had been born.
